Moguls skier Britt Cox has stamped her Winter Olympics gold medal ambitions with victory in the first World Cup event of the year in Canada.
Cox, who wasn't at her best in the past two events where she finished off the podium, took out the super final in Calgary.
She beat Perrine Laffont of France and Canada's Justine Dafour Lapointe.
It was a successful day for the Australian contingent with men's Games medal hopeful Matt Graham finishing third.
"It feels great to start the first World Cup of the year with a gold and I just want to keep the momentum moving and progressing my skiing week-to week," Cox said.
"(I was) happy to come out here and turn things around in Calgary."
The 23-year old will head to Pyeongchang, South Korea next month as Australia's best prospect for Games gold.
In an electric 2017-18, Cox enjoyed the most successful winter season for an Australian athlete with seven World Cup victories and a world championship title.
This season started in similar fashion with a win last month in Finland before some rare failures in China.
Graham continued his consistent start to the year, making it a third podium finish in a row.
Once again it was the sport's greatest practitioner, Mikael Kingsbury of Canada, who won with Dmitry Reikherd of Kazakhstan second.
"After having a successful year last year, it was definitely motivating to come back and do well again," Graham said.
"Overall I was pretty happy with my two final runs, I just made small mistakes and my bottom air and locations of the landings were slightly off which I think cost me a higher step on the podium."
Cox leads the discipline standings while Graham is third.
The moguls tour heads to Deer Valley, Utah this week.
Meanwhile the Australian aerials team skipped the World Cup event in Russia.
