Aussie Muslims start Ramadan

At the Lakemba Mosque in Sydney, 7,000 locals answered the call to midday prayers, and the start of a month dedicated to the five pillars of Islam.

The holy month of Ramadan has begun for Muslims around the world. Here in Australia, it began with prayers, personal reflection and preparation for the breaking of the fast after sunset.
