A Queensland pedophile who bought a newborn baby from a woman in Russia for $US8000 and then took the boy around the world to be abused by other men will be sentenced in the US.
Peter Truong, 36, faces a maximum 40-year sentence when he stands before Judge Sarah Evans Barker in an Indianapolis court on Monday.
Truong's domestic partner, Mark Newton, 42, also from Queensland, was jailed in June for 40 years.
"They groomed (the boy) to hide the truth from any who may inquire, and then transported him around the world for the purpose of his engaging in sex with more than a half dozen other men, all before his sixth birthday," US prosecutors told the judge in their sentencing memorandum.
Truong and Newton, who lived in Cairns, came across an advertisement in 2005 from a woman in Russia willing to sell her unborn child.
Truong has entered guilty pleas to one count of conspiracy to sexually exploit a child and conspiracy to possess child pornography.
Prosecutors will ask that Truong be sentenced to 33 years' imprisonment, although under the plea agreement he could receive a term as low as 24 years.
Prosecutors have filed under seal their reasons for recommending a sentence lower than Newton's 40 years.
