A cavalcade of buffed Australian strippers will testify in a Las Vegas courthouse this week at the trial of a US man accused of attempting to shoot dead a member of their popular Thunder from Down Under troupe.
Las Vegas resident Joey Kadmiri, 24, faces 17 charges including attempted murder with a deadly weapon, robbery and possession of a controlled substance when day one of his trial begins in Las Vegas on Monday (Tuesday AEST).
Kadmiri allegedly fired a .44 calibre Magnum revolver, made famous by Clint Eastwood in the Dirty Harry movies, at troupe member Scott Berchtold's head on March 18, it was alleged.
Kadmiri went backstage at the dancers' strip show in the Excalibur Casino on the Vegas strip and was rummaging through the troupe's uniforms when one of the dancers, Ryan Paki, noticed him, authorities allege.
A brawl erupted, Kadmiri produced the gun and pulled the trigger, it was alleged.
Berchtold, Paki and other troupe members are expected to be among the 15 to 20 prosecution witnesses testifying.
Kadmiri claims he was severely beaten by the strippers.
His mug shot taken shortly after his arrest shows his face covered in bruises and abrasions.
