Aussie women find a T20 game-breaker

Allrounder Grace Harris has been hailed by Australia's women's Twenty20 captain Meg Lanning as a potential game-breaker in the series against India.

Emerging Queensland allrounder Grace Harris can become a game-breaking ace for Australia's women's Twenty20 side, captain Meg Lanning says.

Lanning expects the 22-year-old Harris to feature prominently in Australia's three-game series against India starting Tuesday at Adelaide Oval.

While Harris has played just six T20 internationals, Lanning likes what she has seen from the big-hitter who also bowls handy medium pace.

"Grace is a match-winner really," Lanning told reporters on Monday.

"She only needs to face 10 or 15 balls and she can really get your team into a good position.

"She has shown that in her first few games ... where she was able to clear the ropes probably better than anyone else in world cricket."

While tipping big things, Lanning said she would deliver a simple message to Harris for the Indian series.

"We just want Grace to enjoy her cricket and go out there and really express herself," she said.

"She's a very good player to have on your side. It's really hard to set fields to her when she gets going so we're looking forward to what Grace can bring to the side."

Harris looms as a key part of the Australia's puzzle for the looming T20 World Cup in India in March.

"We are certainly trying to find the best combination heading into the World T20 ... but first and foremost we are trying to win this series against India," Lanning said.
