Australia's women's cricketers could feature in an IPL-style exhibition game in India later this month.

Australia's top women's cricketers could feature in an IPL-style exhibition match in India later this month.

A batch of Australia's women stars has reportedly been approached to play in a Twenty20 fixture to be played as a curtain-raiser to an IPL final.

The women's game has been slated for Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium ahead of the first IPL qualifying final on May 22.

Cricket Australia hopes some Australian women cricketers will play in the match to be contested along IPL lines - seven Indians and four overseas players per team.

The Board of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) has approached Australia, South Africa and England to provide players, Indian media is reporting.

A Cricket Australia spokesperson told cricket.com.au the peak body hoped Australian players would be in involved in the exhibition game.

Australia's women cricketers will regroup at a Brisbane training camp at the end of May.
