Awards season has officially begun in Hollywood, with the announcement of the 2013 Golden Globe nominations.
The list includes a few Aussie hopefuls, which adds a bit of momentum for a shot at the biggest prize of all - the Oscars.
For those who made the list, the early morning start time wasn't much of an issue - as one by one nominees across more than 20 categories in both film and television were revealed.
First, to the Australian contingent with Nicole Kidman securing not one, but two nods.
Thw nominations were for best actress in a TV mini-series for Hemingway and Gellhorn, and best supporting actress for her racy role in The Paperboy.
Kidman's husband Keith Urban also received a nod.
His track "For You", featuring in the Navy SEAL drama "Act of Valour", could get best original song.
Hugh Jackman's singing talent has also been recognised.
His performance in "Les Miserables" made him the hot favourite to take out best actor in a musical or comedy.
Best actress in a drama could go to Naomi Watts for The Impossible - surrounding the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami.
But other names like Toni Collette, Jacki Weaver and Russell Crowe failed to get a mention.
