Australia's Esther Qin and Samantha Mills have combined to claim 3m springboard synchro gold medals at the Gold Coast Grand Prix diving event on Sunday.

Mills and Qin - who took bronze in the event at July's world titles in Russia - pipped highly rated Chinese pair Lin Qu and Han Wang by one point.

They highlighted a big day on the Grand Prix medal podium for the Australians on the fourth and final day of the inaugural Gold Coast round.

Qin also picked up a 3m springboard silver medal, finishing 20 points short of China's Han Wang with Australian teammate Maddison Keeney claiming the bronze medal.

Australia's Commonwealth Games champions Domonic Bedggood and Matthew Mitcham were third in the 10m platform synchro behind winners Sascha Klein and Patrick Hausding of Germany.
