Reverse swing might not be a factor in the second Test against South Africa in Hobart, Australia's Peter Nevill says.
However, the wicketkeeper-batsman fears it will not dull the threat posed by Proteas poster boy Kagiso Rabada.
The 21-year-old's masterful use of reverse swing earned him man-of-the-match honours in South Africa's 177-run first Test win in Perth.
Nevill believed Rabada might be robbed of one of his chief weapons in Hobart.
Miserable conditions have been forecast for the first two days of the second Test starting on Saturday.
"The conditions are going to be slightly different," Nevill told Sky Sports Radio.
"We are expecting there is not going to be as much reverse swing that we saw at the WACA, with it being nice and lush down here in Hobart."
Still, Nevill expected Rabada to be a handful after stepping up in Perth in the absence of injured spearhead Dale Steyn.
"We will have to see who replaces Steyn but Rabada will be the key, how we handle him," he said.
Nevill was one of the few Australian batsmen to keep Rabada at bay in Perth.
The 'keeper silenced critics with 23 and 60 not out with the bat.
"He bowled beautifully (in Perth)," Nevill said of Rabada.
"He was quite difficult, particularly starting (your innings) against reverse swing and he had the ball on a string.
"He is someone we have to counter and cope with down here in Hobart."
