Local teenager Emily Whitehead won the the silver medal in the vault in a solid night for Australia's gymnasts at the World Cup event in Melbourne.
She delivered the strongest local performance of Saturday night's finals at Hisense Arena, sticking both of her landings for an overall score of 13.69 to finish behind Slovenia's Tjasa Kysslef.
It was a timely performance from the 17-year-old Whitehead, who appears certain to be named on Wednesday in Australia's women's artistic gymnastics squad for the Commonwealth Games.
"It would be amazing," Whitehead said of potentially competing at her first Commonwealth Games.
"This is definitely a very big (accomplishment). It's probably one of my biggest.

"My second vault (routine) is pretty new so it was kind of like a bit of a test run to see how it goes."
Whitehead is among the locals who appear to be flourishing under the guidance of Mihai Brestyan, who was last year named national women's coach after overseeing the rise of US superstar Aly Raisman.
"It's amazing (working with him) ... I feel like we have improved a lot already and we've learnt so much," Whitehead said.
Highly-rated Gold Coast native Georgia Godwin managed a fourth-placed finish in the vault.
Godwin, whose 13th-placed all-around finish at last year's world championships was a career highlight, will compete in the finals of the floor and beam on Sunday.
Fellow Queenslander Georgia Rose-Brown took out bronze in the uneven bars despite being one of several competitors, along with compatriot Rianna Mizzen, to falter on her dismount.
On the men's side, Adelaide's Christopher Remkes endured a tough floor routine but took bronze in the pommel horse.
Local duo Michael Tone and Michael Mercieca placed sixth and seventh respectively on the rings.
