Aussies react to budget

Last night in Canberra, Treasurer Wayne Swan delivered what he calls a 'fair go' budget.

Among other measures, it includes extra money for families with kids in school, but critics say it neglects single parents.

There are tax breaks for low and middle income earners and small businesses, with mining and larger corporations taking a hit.

Smokers may find themselves out of pocket, with cuts to duty free allowances.

Some 3,000 public servants face redundancy, while executives living away from home can expect to have their expenditure tightened and scrutinised.

SBS visited the diverse Sydney suburb of Chatswood to find out whether residents and business-owners agree with Mr Swan that they'll be better off under the changes he's made.
