Aust millionaire seeks Bahamas bail

The wife of Australian podiatrist Phillip Vasyli has told a Bahamas court she did not kill her world-renowned podiatrist husband.

Donna Vasyli, accused of stabbing her Australian millionaire podiatrist husband to death at their home in the Bahamas, claims marks found on her hands were from laser treatments not a deadly fight.

Vasyli, 54, also an Australian, is expected to find out on Friday (Saturday AEST) if she will be granted bail.

Vasyli was taken into custody and charged with murder after her husband, Phillip Vasyli, was found lifeless in the dining room of their luxury home in the exclusive gated community of Old Fort Bay on March 24.

Authorities say he suffered multiple stab wounds.

Vasyli's lawyer Murrio Ducille claims his client is not a flight risk and says she did not kill or have a fight with her world-renowned podiatrist husband, The Bahamas Tribune reported on Thursday.

The marks on her hands were from an appointment with a dermatologist a week earlier, he said.

"The marks on the upper side of my hand were from laser treatments I received on March 17, 2015, by Dr Rochelle Knowles," Ducille, reading his client's affidavit, told a bail hearing.

The owner of multiple podiatry clinics around the world, Mr Vasyli also founded an orthotic footwear company that sells Vionic with Orthaheel Technology products.
