Aust to learn from Turkey terrorist attack

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has promised to learn from the deadly suicide bombings at Istanbul's airport to protect Australians from terrorism.

Australian officials will pore over details of a deadly terrorist attack at Turkey's largest airport to learn from weaknesses that allowed suicide bombers through the doors.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says security agencies will study flaws in the system at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport to better protect Australians, following an attack that killed at least 40 people.

"We will be incorporating that into our own safety program," he told 3AW radio on Thursday.
