Shipbuilder Austal has won a contract worth $434 million to build two more expeditionary fast transport (EFT) catamaran vessels for the US Navy.
The company already holds a contract to build 10 such vessels for the US Navy, and has delivered seven of the ships.
"This new order for a further two EPF reflect the US Navy's continued confidence and investment in a proven product," chief executive David Singleton said.
