Australia have opened their one-day international campaign against India with a comprehensive 101-run win in Canberra, buoyed by career-high knocks from Alex Blackwell and Ellyse Perry.
Out to avenge their Twenty20 series loss, the Southern Stars set a tough target of 277 in the first of three games at Manuka Oval on Tuesday before bowling the tourists out for 175 in 47 overs.
Blackwell led the way with 114 runs off 112 balls, including a dozen boundaries, while Perry added 90 and took an impressive four wickets.
It was veteran Blackwell's third ODI century and highest score since 2008, when she finished 106 not out against India at the same ground.
Perry also equalled her career-best of 90 not out, set in 2014, taking her tally of half-centuries to eight in nine ODIs.
The dual international, who starred in Sunday's 15-run T20 win at the SCG, was also Australia's leading wicket-taker with 4-45 from 10 overs.
The victory firms Australia's place atop the ICC women's one-day championship and ahead of the West Indies.
"With this ODI series being really important in the ICC championship, it was really nice to come out and play well today," Perry said.
"I think it was probably our most complete game of cricket in the last couple of weeks."
The Stars chose to bat after winning the toss for the first time since the start of the T20 series.
Opener Nicole Bolton (1) fell early, leaving Australia 1-24 in the third over.
But skipper Meg Lanning quickly took charge, smashing 43 off 46 balls before getting caught behind.
Blackwell and Perry combined for a 180-run partnership, before Blackwell sent the ball into the wicketkeeper's gloves with just four overs to go.
"When you contribute to a win, it's really pleasing - and that's all I hope to do. A hundred is a bonus," said Blackwell, awarded player of the match.
Her dismissal was soon followed by that of debutant Grace Harris (2) and Perry, who was bowled by Shikha Pandey.
Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored for India with 42 off 72 balls, while Pandey was best with the ball with 3-32.
Captain Mithali Raj managed a decent 23-run knock from 29 but was caught lbw by Jess Jonassen (1-22).
The two sides meet again in Hobart on Friday and Sunday.
