Australia given T20 World Cup tune-up

Australia will face the West Indies in a Twenty20 World Cup warm-up game on March 13 in Kolkata.

The International Cricket Council has confirmed the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup schedule, with Australia to meet the West Indies in a warm-up match.

Australia start their World Cup campaign on March 18 in the northern Indian town of Dharamsala, where they will tackle New Zealand.

Their only local practice game before the tournament starts will be in Kolkata on March 13, when they face the West Indies.

However, Australia's 15-man squad is travelling to South Africa for a three-match T20 series in early March before flying into Kolkata.

The T20 World Cup is the only major cricket tournament that Australia have never won.
