Australia has allocated $1 million in emergency supplies to Typhoon Koppu victims in the Philippines.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop says the contribution will supply tarpaulins for emergency shelter, sleeping mats, blankets, mosquito nets, water containers, hygiene kits and health kits for women.

Koppu, the second strongest storm to hit the disaster-plagued Southeast Asian archipelago this year, has forced more than 60,000 people from their homes.
