Australia has offered $2 million in emergency relief aid to Myanmar (Burma), which is suffering its worst floods in 100 years.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop extended her sympathies over the disaster when she met counterpart Wunna Maung Lwin at the ASEAN ministerial meetings in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

The flooding follows weeks of monsoon rains and has claimed at least 46 lives and affected more than 150,000 people, however rescuers are yet to reach victims in remote areas.
