Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Christians are believed to be one of the most oppressed minorities in the World.
The conditions in Egypt are weighing heavily on Australia's 80,000 strong Coptic community.
Many have family and friends who are caught up in sectarian violence which has escalated dramatically since the Muslim Brotherhood took power following Egypt's revolution in 2011.
Senior Australian Coptic Clerics are urging the Australian government to make a stand on their behalf but as SBS reporter Sam Ikin found out there is very little authorities outside of Egypt can do.
