International campaigning and advocacy organisation ONE is calling on Australia to use its presidency of the G20 to help end secret deals and money laundering that are having a devastating impact on developing countries.

David McNair from ONE says a report commissioned by the organisation shows at least a trillion dollars is siphoned out of developing countries through corrupt activites that directly affect spending in areas such as health.

Mr McNair says it's estimated that as many as 3.6 million deaths could be prevented each year in the world's poorest countries if concrete action were taken to stop corruption, particularly amongst government officials and in some cases the countries' leaders.

He is speaking with Amanda Cavill.
