AUSTRALIA V INDIA SECOND TEST SNAPSHOT:

STATE OF PLAY: Australia 326. India 3-172 at stumps on day two at Perth Stadium

MAN OF THE DAY: Virat Kohli. India were in huge trouble at 2-8 when Kohli strode to the crease. The Indian skipper helped to drag his team out of trouble with a 74-run partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara. He then combined with Ajinkya Rahane to guide India to a steady position by stumps. Kohli finished the day unbeaten on 82 off 181 balls

KEY MOMENT: Mitchell Starc brings down The Wall. Cheteshwar Pujara had been a thorn for Australia this series, scoring 123 and 71 in Adelaide. The man known as 'The Wall' frustrated Australia again on Saturday, scoring 24 off 103 balls. But he fell to Starc when he glanced a leg-side delivery through to wicketkeeper Tim Paine, reducing India to 3-82

STAT OF THE DAY: 61.72 - Virat Kholi's average in Australia. It's more than seven runs better than his overall average, an amazing stat given Australia can be a graveyard for visiting batsmen

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Astonished, baffled, not just surprised." - Indian great Sunil Gavaskar was shocked that captain Virat Kohli didn't open the bowling on Saturday with Jasprit Bumrah.
