The Australian Coptic community has called on international political leaders to work more cooperatively to combat the influence of the self-proclaimed Islamic State, or IS, militants.
It comes after the release of an online video purporting to show the execution of what's thought to be a group of 21 Coptic Christians that a group allied with IS says it captured in Libya.
The Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Melbourne says it is appalled by the video.
The head of the diocese, Bishop Suriel, has told Michael Kenny the video has generated a great deal of concern within the local community.
