Australian kangaroo meat destined for Peru

Australia has begun exporting Kangaroo meat to Peru, and hopes to expand to other South American markets.

Australia has begun exporting Kangaroo meat to Peru, and hopes to expand to other South American markets.

The federal government says the first commercial shipment of around 1,000 kilograms left Australia in February, and will soon be on supermarket shelves in Lima.

Queensland Senator Barry O'Sullivan Peru told SBS Spanish broadcaster Carlos Colina, negotiations are also underway to export roo meat to Brazil and Argentina.
