The manager of household operations at Canberra's Government House has been awarded the Royal Victoria Order in Queen's New Year's Honours List.

Australian Lynette Mace, who manages the daily operations at Government House in Canberra, has been named in the Queen's New Year's Honours List.

The biannual list, released on the Queen's official birthday in June and on New Year's Eve, celebrates those who have made significant contributions to British life and denotes public recognition for exceptional achievements or service.

Ms Mace was awarded the Royal Victorian Order for her services as manager of household operations at Government House, the residence of the governor-general.
