A former Hobart bureaucrat and her son were stabbed to death on the Pacific island of Kiribati.
Sarah Moses was living with her husband, Bryce Moses, and their son, Jack, on the small island with a population of 110,000 people.
According to local media reports, Ms Moses and Jack were stabbed in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Kiribati Police Service told local media the incident was being treated as a domestic violence case.
A man, believed to be a member of Moses' extended family, has been arrested by police.
No charges have been laid but police told local media the investigation was ongoing and was expected to proceed to prosecution.
Ms Moses married Bryce in 2013 and gave birth to Jack. Her husband paid tribute to his wife and son on Facebook.
Family and friends have taken to social media to pay their respects to Ms Moses and Jack.
"Remembering their wonderful and gentle souls will forever remain in our hearts," a loved one wrote.

"They are truly a blessing to Kiribati and we will surely miss you two."
Another person said: "You both will never be forgot in our prayers and in our heart."
A spokesperson for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) said in a statement Ms Moses was working in the country's capital, Tarawa, on an Australian Aid funded project.
She was well known to staff at the Australian High Commission in Tarawa.
"Bruce Cowled, Australian High Commissioner to Kiribati, attended a memorial service for Sarah and Jack to acknowledge Sarah's commitment and service to the people of Kiribati," the statement said.
A funeral was held on Tuesday.
