Australia's rugby sevens women have boosted their hopes for the Olympic gold medal by winning a second consecutive world series event.
The Aussies thrashed Canada 29-0 in the final in Sao Paulo, Brazil and are undefeated after the first two legs of the world series, having also triumphed in Dubai last December.
The win gave them a dominant 12-point lead over nearest rivals Canada and New Zealand with three world series legs remaining.
If the Aussies hold on and win the championship, they will become the first team to take the world series title away from New Zealand in the competition's four-year history.
However coach Tim Walsh already has his eyes on the inaugural Olympic sevens gold medal back in Brazil in August.
"Everyone wants to win a world series but in the back of everyone's mind is making sure we are peaking for Rio in August," Walsh said.
"Full credit to the girls for the way they perform and the way they train for the results. They try and better themselves constantly and it has made us the outfit we are today."
Five different players scored tries in the final flogging, however it was the Australians' defence that left Walsh most impressed.
Their quarter-final win over Fiji and semi-final win over the United States also came without conceding points, meaning the team has achieved that feat in five of their 12 games this season.
The next event is in Atlanta in April, before the series rounds out in Langford, Canada and Clermont, France.
