Australians misinformed on refugee facts: survey

A survey by the Red Cross has found that Australians are misinformed when it comes to basic facts on refugees and asylum seekers.

It shows most people think it's a crime to come by boat to Australia without a visa seeking protection.

And it also indicates many people believe there's an official queue refugees and asylum seekers can join to be resettled.

Liz De Vries is the National Manager for migration support programs at the Australian Red Cross and she spoke to Zara Zaher.
