Australia's Crombie misses out on Oscar

Fiona Crombie was the short-priced favourite to win the production design Oscar after claiming BAFTA and numerous guild awards.

Australian production designer Fiona Crombie has missed out on the Oscar for her work on The Favourite.

The Oscar went to Black Panther's Hannah Beachler and Jay Hart.

Sydney-born, Adelaide-raised Crombie and The Favourite's English set decorator Alice Felton were favourites for the Oscar at the 91st edition of the awards underway in Hollywood but Black Panther has won early awards, including costume design.
