Australia's first Islamic museum opens

Australia's first Islamic museum has received a $1.5 million dollar cash injection from the government as it unveils its opening exhibition.

Legendary musician Yusuf Islam - formerly known as Cat Stevens - launched the documentary and photographic essay, which is titled 'Boundless Plains'.

It traces the journey of four Muslim men into the outback to explore the history of Islam in the country.
