An autopsy of the three-year-old Indian boy found dead after he vanished from his Melbourne home has not determined the cause of death.
Victoria Police Detective Inspector Steve Clark said the body of Gurshan Singh had no obvious signs of injuries and an autopsy had not revealed how he died.
"There has been an autopsy conducted and as I say a range of forensic testing needs to be carried out," he told reporters on Friday.

Suspicious death
Homicide detectives are leading the investigation, which is classified as a suspicious death.
A cousin reported Gurshan missing from the family's Lalor home about 1pm (AEDT) on Thursday.
His body was found dumped in long grass by the side of a road about 30km away in Oaklands Junction about 7pm. He was fully clothed in blue jeans and a grey top.
Police have interviewed a large number of witnesses and Gurshan's mother has told them she was in the shower when he disappeared.
But what happened to the boy after that until his body was found remains unknown.
"Those circumstances are unclear," Det Clark said.
"There's a range of further forensic tests that need to be conducted and we're awaiting those results."
Deputy Commissioner Ken Jones urged the public not to speculate about how the boy could have died.
"To maintain the integrity of the investigation it's very important that those who may or may not become suspects - that we're able to interview them without them having read speculative theories ... it actually gets in the way of us understanding precisely what happened," he said.
Police would not say if they have identified any suspects at this time.
