'Baby Hope' suspect pleads not guilty

The suspect in the death of "Baby Hope", Conrado Juarez, has pleaded not guilty to murder.

The suspect in a New York City child killing that puzzled investigators for two decades has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge.

Conrado Juarez was in a Manhattan court on Thursday in connection with the death of a four-year-old girl long known only as "Baby Hope".

The girl's body was found in a cooler by a highway in 1991. A tip recently led detectives to her name, Anjelica Castillo. Juarez was her cousin.

Juarez was arrested on October 12.

Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Melissa Morges says Juarez initially said he helped his sister dispose of the cooler, unaware of what was inside. She says Juarez then recounted finding Anjelica's body and helping hide it, then admitted sexually abusing and smothering her.
