Baby killed in regional WA car rollover

A baby has been killed in a car rollover, the second death in WA this Eastern long weekend, while a boy is in hospital after being hit by a four-wheel drive.

A baby has been killed in a car rollover on a dirt road in Western Australia's southwest.

The nine-month-old girl was taken by ambulance to Collie hospital where she died a short time later on Saturday.

Police say the vehicle was driving on a dirt road 15km out of Collie when emergency services were called about 10.40am.

Two adults in the car received minor injuries.

Her death is the second in WA so far this Easter long weekend.

A man died after the Jeep he was driving crashed into a tree on the Brookton Highway at Mount Nasura when it crashed about 8.45pm on Good Friday.

The 26-year-old man was taken to Armadale Hospital where he died soon after.

A four-year-old boy is also in hospital with head injuries after being hit by a four-wheel-drive at Albany.

Two 4WDs were on the beach near the intersection of Bluff Creek Road and South Coast Highway when one reversed into the child.

He was taken by ambulance to Albany Hospital and will be flown to Perth by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
