Bachelorette defies result leak

The Bachelorette has been a ratings winner for Network Ten with more than 1.5 million tuning in to see Sam Frost pick her beau.

The Bachelorette finale has outrated The Bachelor and that's despite an online news outlet spoiling the fun for fans.

The moment Bachelorette Sam Frost chose Sasha Mielczarek as her man on Thursday attracted 1.520 million viewers.

The corresponding segment on The Bachelor drew 1.482 million viewers.

Even the build-up on the final episode was bigger, with 1.241 million tuning in compared to 1.228 million on The Bachelor, according to OzTAM's overnight ratings.

The Bachelorette topped the ratings and beat its male equivalent despite the result being posted online several hours before the episode started.
