Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he is "definitely keen" to take up a backstage invitation from rapper Fatman Scoop, whose song his office used in a controversial social media video.
The US rapper extended the hip hop gig invite to Mr Morrison in an Instagram post where he said he was "humbled" to have his voice "rocking in the highest offices of the Australian government".
"I am inviting Scott Morrison to come to R&B Fridays as my guest in November to watch, dance, and after in the backstage area discuss politics with me," the Grammy award winner wrote.
"I don't have to agree with your policies but we can have spirited debate about them, and you can attempt to walk me through why you think like that."
The PM tweeted that he was up for the meeting and that it was "probably best" that Fatman Scoop send him the "PG radio version next time" of his song, Be Faithful.
The 11-second footage of Liberal MPs raising their hands in parliament question time with the 1999 club banger Be Faithful overlaid.
Mr Morrison removed the video from all social media three hours after it was posted and tweeted an apology that he had not been aware of the full, suggestive and expletive-laden, lyrics of the song.
The PM told reporters on Friday the video was "a bit of fun".
"We're just trying to connect honestly with people, and some of the narcs will get a bit worked up about this sort of thing," he said.
Fatman Scoop seemed to back Mr Morrison, writing on Facebook that Be Faithful is "a fun PARTY SONG that has no NEGATIVITY or HARM in it" and the video was clearly "an attempt to reach out to a younger audience".
