Aaron Baddeley has again surged back into contention at the rain-affected US PGA Tour's Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi.
The Australian finished the third day on Sunday three shots behind American leader Roberto Castro, in a tie for 11th on 10-under-par.
Baddeley, who lost his tour card at the end of last season, started the day by completing a second round of one-over par which left him eight shots adrift of clubhouse leader Castro.
But he hit the course again and, after two early bogeys, he made birdies at the par-5 third and fifth, then hit wedges close for birdies on the ninth and 11th holes before draining a 16-foot birdie putt on the 12th before bad light stopped play.
The two men Baddeley was chasing, Castro and Venezuela's Jhonattan Vegas, couldn't make headway in the afternoon.
Vegas was even par through six holes while Castro was two-over through six after back-to-back bogeys at holes three and four.
Castro, who faces playing 30 holes on Monday in his bid for his maiden US PGA Tour title in over 100 starts, said he wouldn't be bothered by the long grind.
"Just grab your lunch at the turn and keep going," the 30-year-old Castro said.
"If you get on a good run, just ride it as long as you can."
The two bogeys early in his third round were his first two of the tournament, though the American said they weren't a product of feeling the pressure.
"I just hit two poor shots and paid for both of them," Castro said.
Americans D.J. Trahan and Michael Thompson were tied for second at 12-under, one shot off the pace.
Fellow Australian Cameron Percy was at nine-under and tied 18th.
