Bali garden open for 2005 bomb anniversary

The Australian consulate-general in Bali will open its memorial garden to the public for the 10th anniversary of the 2005 Bali bombings.

As Bali marks 10 years since it was rocked by a second deadly terrorist attack, the public is invited to leave tributes at the Australian Consulate-General.

The 2005 Bali bombings in Kuta and Jimbaran claimed 20 lives, including that of four Australians, and those of three bombers. More than 100 people were injured, among them 17 Australians.

The consulate-general's memorial garden will be open on Thursday for private reflection and remembrance between 8am and 4pm local time, and flowers and candles will be available.

There will also be a memorial book for visitors to mark the anniversary.

The bombers targeted restaurants at 7.30pm at night, a little more than a week short of the third anniversary of the more deadly 2002 bombings at a Kuta nightclub.
