Second seed Vera Zvonareva has blasted her way through to the second round of the Australian Open.
The Russian crushed Austrian Sybille Bammer in straight sets, winning 6-2 6-1.
Zvonareva continued her intimidation of Bammer, chalking up her fifth win in succession.
A finalist at the past two grand slams, Wimbledon and the US Open, she scored her easiest victory on Tuesday over the Austrian as she zeroes in on a maiden major victory.
She was a semi-finalist at the Australian Open in 2009 and made the fourth round last year.

Zvonareva has a chance to take the No.1 mantle but would have to reach at least the final to topple Dane Caroline Wozniacki.
Bammer, 30, had her best grand slam result with a quarter-final appearance in the US Open in 2008.
