Bandido arrested near Qld bikie clubhouse

Police have swarmed on a Bandido clubhouse in Brisbane, arresting a bikie who they believe was involved in last week's Broadbeach melee.

Police have arrested a Bandidos bikie over last week's Gold Coast brawl, in a show of force at a gang clubhouse in Brisbane.

The "patch member" of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle club was arrested near the club house at West End on Thursday night after police swarmed the area.

Police Superintendent Jim Keogh said the arrested bikie was linked to last week's fracas among Bandidos club members at a Broadbeach restaurant.

"We have arrested one offender here who we believe was involved in the melee down on the Gold Coast on Friday night," he told reporters.

Supt Keogh would not give the man's age, but said he was arrested near the club.

Police have charged six people, all believed to belong to the Bandidos gang, over the Broadbeach brawl that has outraged the Queensland government and triggered its crackdown on bikie gangs.

A third person, a 23-year-old woman, has been issued a public nuisance notice.

Mr Keogh said the "vast" show of force by police was aimed at sending a message to outlaw bikies.

"The situation is, they couldn't behave themselves with the law so now they'll wear the full force of the law, it's pure an simple," he told reporters.

"We'll continue to go after them .. they're criminals, we're criminal investigators."
