Sabbir Rahman is among four new faces in Bangladesh's 14-man squad for the first Test against England in Chittagong.

Rahman was fined 20 per cent of his match fee for his role in the angry on-field exchange between several Bangladeshi fielders and stand-in England captain Jos Buttler during the second one-day international last week.

But the 24-year-old, who has played 29 ODIs and 26 Twenty20 internationals, could be in line to make his Test bow when the two teams meet at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium from Thursday.

Former under-19 captain Mehedi Hasan and paceman Kamrul Islam Rabbi have never been capped at international level while wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan has only featured in the shortest format for Bangladesh.

Shafiul Islam has been included, having last played a Test nearly two years ago, and is one of only two quick bowlers in the squad, with the Tigers loading up on their spin options.

Bangladesh's last Test finished in early August last year, against South Africa, but the top six from that match - Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, captain Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan - have all been retained.

Bangladesh squad for first Test versus England: Mushfiqur Rahim (captain), Tamim Iqbal (vice-captain), Soumya Sarker, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Hoque, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Shuvagata Hom, Sabbir Rahman, Mehedi Hasan, Shafiul Islam, Taijul Islam, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Nurul Hasan.
