Bangladesh reject NZ pink ball Test

A pink ball Test won't happen this New Zealand summer but India's tour promises plenty of late night finishes.

New Zealand won't need a pink ball this summer with Bangladesh rejecting the proposal of a day-night Test.

A Black Caps' home schedule heavy on one-day internationals was released on Tuesday, confirming tours by Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh.

The three-Test series against the Bangladeshis to end the summer was to feature a pink ball Test in Hamilton but the tourists didn't feel prepared for it, NZ Cricket chief operating officer Anthony Crummy said.

"They haven't played a day-night test, nor have they had a lot of preparation in their own first-class cricket," he said.

"We respect that decision and I'm sure day-night cricket will continue."

Sri Lanka will play two Tests, three ODIs and a T20 international before India's visit, comprising five ODIs and three T20 internationals.

New Zealand's biggest ground, Eden Park, will host just two T20 internationalss across the summer.

Its cause isn't helped by resource consent restrictions which means the ground can't accommodate the late starts stipulated by Indian broadcaster Star Sports.

Most of the eight matches on the Indian tour will finish about 11pm if they go the distance.

A tour by the Indian women's team closely mirrors the men, including three double-header T20 internationals in Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton in early February. The women's matches will finish an hour before the men begin.

Four of the five Tests will be at Wellington's Basin Reserve or Christchurch's Hagley Oval.
