Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan have starred once more as Bangladesh maintained their 100 per cent record in the triangular one-day international series with a comprehensive 91-run victory over Zimbabwe.
Tamim registered his third successive half-century in the tournament and showed great restraint on a tricky Dhaka surface to be the top-order linchpin as he contributed a composed 76 in the Tigers' total of 9-216 for nine.
His 106-run stand with Shakib (51) for the second wicket proved invaluable as Bangladesh collapsed from 2-147 for two to 9-196, with legspinner Graeme Cremer the pick of Zimbabwe's attack as he took 4-32, which included the stumping of Tamim.
The tourists, though, were four down inside the first 10 overs as Mashrafe Mortaza and Shakib shared the wickets. It was a position they were unable to recover from and they were all out for 125 from 36.3 overs, Shakib taking three wickets for the third match in a row.
If Zimbabwe are to reach Saturday's final they need Sri Lanka to lose to Bangladesh, who will be aiming to close the group stage on Thursday with a fourth successive win.
