Bank of Queensland non-executive director Neil Berkett has resigned.

The bank gave no reason for Mr Berkett's resignation, which takes effect from May 31, but said the former Virgin Media chief executive provided the board with important insight across a range of issues over the past three years.

Bank of Queensland announced a $15 million structural review in February involving a streamlining of operations to strip out duplication of roles, following its acquisitions over the past three years.
