The seat of Bankstown in Sydney's West is the epitome of the Labor heartland. It has been held by the party since its creation.
Its history has roots in Irish Catholic settlers who migrated here during the 19th century, but in more recent times, the demographics has changed dramatically.
It's now one of the most multicultural electorates in the state and for the first time Muslim women are putting their hands up to represent the community and they aren't representing Labor.
