Street artist Banksy is raffling one of his artworks for a minimum donation of £2 (AUD3.5) to help a refugee support initiative.

Banksy, whose work is often provocative and has political undertones, posted a challenge to his 5.1 million Instagram followers - urging them to guess the weight of the sculpture that features in his work Dismaland.

"I'm raffling one of the boats from Dismaland in aid of refugee support services," he posted to Instagram on Sunday.

"You can win it for £2 if you correctly guess how much it weighs."
The sculpture was created as part of the 2015 acclaimed theme park Dismaland, which resembled Disneyland set in a disused swimming pool complex in the English coastal town of Weston-super-Mare.

All donations will go to Choose Love, a refugee support service that donated almost $1.7 million of charitable goods to front line services.

The group also offered up a clue to help a potential winner.

"Need a clue? The boat is constructed from a shop bought fibre glass hull customised with quick-cast resin figures which are foam filled and hand spray painted. Although the prize includes battery pack, that is not currently in the boat," the Choose Love store website read.

Banksy made international headlines in October when one of his artworks automatically shredded itself at an auction after selling for $1.4 million.
