A new show called 'Walk a Mile in my Shoes' has become the surprise hit of the Sydney festival.
The show brings together some of the Pacific's finest female singers to share stories of indigenous life and overcoming adversity.
They're known as the Barefoot Divas.
"I hope that ... 'Walk a Mile' gets them thinking about .. women's issues, indigenous women's issues, but also to know that we're there and yes you may think that we're quiet but we're quietly strong and we're relevant," says one of the stars, Ursula Yovich.
Gambangar woman Emma Donovan says that hearing other members of the group perform in her native language has been a profound spiritual experience.
The show winds it's way through Maori, Aboriginal, Papuan New Guinea and Roma Gypsy musical styles, and it broaches hard issues, including racism.
'Walk a Mile in my Shoes' finishes its sold out Sydney performances tonight before heading to New Zealand.
