Barnett says One Nation comments abhorrent

Comments made by a One Nation candidate on social media are abhorrent, the WA premier says, but he won't back down on a preference deal with the party.

WA Premier Colin Barnett says some views expressed by Pauline Hanson's One Nation candidates are abhorrent but he will not say whether the Liberals are wrong to do a preference deal with the right-wing party.

One Nation candidate Richard Eldridge, who is contesting an upper house seat in Perth's South Metropolitan region, advocated killing Indonesian journalists and attacked the gay community, black people and Muslims on his now-deactivated Twitter account.

"In absolutely no way do I endorse the policies or candidates of One Nation," Mr Barnett told reporters on Thursday.

"I find some of those comments absolutely abhorrent.

"I'm not going to be defending One Nation - go and talk to Pauline."
