West Australian Premier Colin Barnett is set to reveal today whether he will sack Treasurer Troy Buswell following revelations he misused ministerial entitlements during an affair with Greens MP Adele Carles.
Mr Buswell confirmed on Monday he had a four-month affair with Ms Carles and said he had deeply hurt his family and many other people.
The 44-year-old also admitted misusing a ministerial car and a hotel entitlement during the affair with Ms Carles but said he would repay the money.
The premier is due to make a statement on the issue on Tuesday amid speculation he will sack Mr Buswell over the misuse of entitlements, given two previous cases of false claims for travel allowances by the treasurer.
The state opposition says Mr Barnett has little option but to demand Mr Buswell's resignation or sack him.

News of Mr Buswell's affair followed previous notorious incidents in which he snapped the bra strap of a Labor Party staff member and sniffed the chair of a Liberal Party staffer.
That incident eventually forced him to step down as Liberal Party leader in late 2008.
Mr Buswell said on Monday he planned to stay on as treasurer.
