Courtney Barnett has broken her silence after winning her third gong at the ARIAs - for best female artist - appearing on a live video from London.
Wearing a T-shirt reading, "choose love", she said it was a real honour to win the awards, which also included the prize for breakthrough artist.
Barnett thanked everyone including her cat, Bubbles, and "my amazing girlfriend Jen Cloher, who is amazing."
The 28-year-old released her first album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, in March this year, which made it to No.4 On the ARIA charts.
Barnett was the most nominated artist at the ARIAs with a total of eight nods, including her previous win for best cover art.
She has been making waves overseas with appearances on US TV shows including The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Barnett grew up on Sydney's northern beaches and then moved to Hobart as a teenager. She now bases herself in Melbourne.
