Barossa gets biggest vineyard solar system

A 1.4 megawatt solar power system is under construction in South Australia's Barossa Valley, expected to cut carbon emissions by 1,100 tonnes per year.

The largest solar power system to be installed at an Australian winery is halfway to completion in South Australia's Barossa Valley.

AGL Energy Limited is responsible for the installation of the 1.4 megawatt system at the family owned Yalumba Family Vignerons.

AGL managing director and chief executive Andy Vesey says the solar system will cut 1,100 tonnes of annual carbon emissions, which is the equivalent of taking 340 cars off the road.
