Barty sets up clash with Kerber in China

Ashleigh Barty has booked a date in the third round with Angelique Kerber after coming from a set down to win at the WTA event in China.

Australia's Ashleigh Barty is into the third round of the WTA event in Wuhan after a three-set win over Chinese wildcard Saisai Zheng.

The world No.17 dropped the opening before cruising home 4-6 6-1 6-2 to take out the match in a little over two hours.

The 22-year-old Queenslander will next face the reigning Wimbledon champion, Germany's Angelique Kerber, who progressed after her opponent Madison Keys was forced to retire trailing 6-0 4-1.

American Keys called it quits after injuring her left knee.

Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic is also into the next round after a 6-3 6-4 win over Serbia's Aleksandra Krunic.

The fifth seed from the Czech Republic has won the title in Wuhan twice in the past four years, and fired down 13 aces on her way to beating the world No.63.
